Conflicts of Interest & Funding Transparency

The commercial medical artificial intelligence market is expanding exponentially. As billions of dollars flow into digital health startups, ambient workflows, and diagnostic algorithms, the need for fiercely independent, objective, and unbiased clinical journalism is critical.
Neural Rounds was founded on a simple premise: to provide healthcare professionals with clinical tech analysis they can trust with patient safety. To maintain this trust, we operate with absolute transparency regarding our revenue, funding, and conflicts of interest.
1. Editorial Independence
Our editorial decisions are made entirely independently of commercial interests.
- No technology vendor, software developer, medical device manufacturer, or corporate sponsor has any input into our editorial direction, article topics, review criteria, or the final scores assigned within The AI Tool Index.
- Our writers and clinical reviewers do not hold financial stakes, stock options, or direct employment ties with the specific healthcare technology companies or AI startups evaluated on this platform.
2. How We Fund This Platform
To keep our foundational clinical news and research summaries completely free and open-access to medical students, residents, and practitioners globally, Neural Rounds utilizes a strictly segmented commercial model. We may generate revenue through the following streams:
- Premium B2B Newsletter Sponsorships: Corporations and health-tech providers can purchase dedicated advertising blocks within our email newsletters. These advertisements are clearly separated from our editorial content.
- Contextual Display Advertising: We may feature high-end, non-intrusive display advertisements on our website. We do not allow intrusive, disruptive pop-ups that degrade the clinical reading experience.
- Enterprise Directory Placements: Software vendors may request a verified profile within our directory to showcase their technical specifications, pricing, and compliance standards. However, verification does not guarantee a positive editorial review or alter our independent scorecards.
3. Strict Labeling of Commercial Content
We believe in absolute transparency. If any content on Neural Rounds is funded, supported, or influenced by an outside commercial entity, it is explicitly quarantined and labeled:
- [Sponsored] / [Advertisement]: Any content that is paid for directly by a vendor will feature an unmissable tag at the very top of the page.
- Affiliate Disclosures: If we ever provide an external link to a medical textbook, software trial, or hardware tool that generates a micro-commission for our platform, a clear disclosure will be placed directly adjacent to that link.
4. Our Commitment to the Medical Community
We hold ourselves to the ethical standards of global medical publishing. If a reader, institution, or developer ever identifies a potential, unlisted conflict of interest in any of our reporting, we invite you to bring it to our immediate attention. We will audit the claim transparently and issue public disclosures if an oversight has occurred.
